Yakisoba Ninja

Our Japanese Headstart class took a field trip today to Odawara Castle. On the way back, we stopped at the train station for lunch where I shot this footage of the amazingly efficient yakisoba assembly line.

As is common in many restaurants in Japan, you order and pay at a little vending machine which prints out a ticket that you hand to the person behind the counter (even Ikea has these machines at their restaurant). Our headstart instructor wrote “no meat – vegetables only” in kanji on our tickets to help us get vegetarian. They had two sizes ¬†and you could get the yakisoba wrapped in an omelet. Stacy got the smaller size plain and I went for the larger size in an omelet.
