Our Japanese Headstart class took a field trip today to Odawara Castle. On the way back, we stopped at the train station for lunch where I shot this footage of the amazingly efficient yakisoba assembly line.
As is common in many restaurants in Japan, you order and pay at a little vending machine which prints out a ticket that you hand to the person behind the counter (even Ikea has these machines at their restaurant). Our headstart instructor wrote “no meat – vegetables only” in kanji on our tickets to help us get vegetarian. They had two sizes and you could get the yakisoba wrapped in an omelet. Stacy got the smaller size plain and I went for the larger size in an omelet.
